Hall of Shame

This page is dedicated to the countless hordes of commercial programs that make use of the library without following the terms of the LGPL. If you disagree with this behaviour, and are interested in seeing new development on the library, please contact the authors of these infringing pieces of software and politely reqeust that they comply with AKRip32.dll's license. If you find that your software has been listed here and wish for it to be removed, please send me a link to where I can download a version of your application that complies with the LGPL.

Description:   Update: Audio2x has said that they will rectify the situation, but so far, they have only renamed the dll as akrip.dll -- no sign of the LGPL or my copyright notice anywhere. So for the time being, they will remain on this list.
MP3 Workshop installs a file named ezripper.dll into \winnt\system32. Upon closer inspection, this DLL exports:
  1. CDDBGetDiskInfo
  2. CDDBGetServerList
  3. CDDBQuery
  4. CDDBSetOption
  5. CloseCDHandle
  6. GetAKRipDllVersion
  7. GetAspiLibAspiError
  8. GetAspiLibError
  9. GetCDDBDiskID
  10. GetCDHandle
  11. GetCDId
  12. GetCDList
  13. GetDriveInfo
  14. GetNumAdapters
  15. ModifyCDParms
  16. QueryCDParms
  17. ReadCDAudioLBA
  18. ReadCDAudioLBAEx
  19. ReadTOC
If you happen to be thinking, gee, these functions seem real familiar, it's because they're the exact same names of exported functions in AKRip32.dll. It's also pretty telling that the "authors" of this DLL didn't even bother to remove a reference to the GNU LGPL, as you'll note from this binary dump:
